This School Locator Web application offers the user a simple interface to search for school information based on an address. Search instructions are described below along with definitions for school type. Click on a topic below for more information.

Search for schools based on an address
This search allows the user to enter their home address and find their home elementary, middle and high schools. Additional search parameters may be entered. Otherwise the default settings will be used.
 
Step 1 (Required): Enter the search address in the text box
Enter your search address by filling in the text box. An example of how the address should be entered is displayed next to the search address text box. Example: 1900 W Monroe
 
Step 2 (Optional): Enter additional search criteria to refine the search
To limit the schools returned in the search, the desired Grade Level may be selected. The options are 'All', Elementary', 'Middle' and 'High'. The default option is 'All' Grade Levels.

To search for schools that offer a particular program, a School Type option may be selected. School Types include 'All', 'Home School', 'Gifted' and 'Magnet'. The default School Type is 'Home School'.
 
Step 3 (Required): Submit your search
Click 'Continue'.
 
Search for a school by school name
This search allows the user to select a particular schhol.
 
Step 1 (Required): Select the school
Select the school name from the list in the drop down box. The schools are grouped by grade levels.
 
Step 2 (Required): Submit your search
Click 'Continue'.
 
Search for schools by school type
This search allows the user to view a list of schools based on school type.
 
Step 1 (Required): Select the school type
Select the school type from the list in the drop down box. The default school type is 'All'.
 
Step 2 (Required): Submit your search
Click 'Continue'.
 
Search for all schools
This search allows the user to view a list of all the schools based on grade level, reagrdless of school type or location.
 
Step 1 (Required): Select the grade level
Select the grade level from the list in the drop down box. The default grade level is elementary.
 
Step 2 (Required): Submit your search
Click 'Continue'.

School Type Definitions
Home School
The school to which your child is assigned based on your home address.
 
Gifted
Both Iles Elementary and Franklin Middle Schools have programs for gifted students who attend our district. Students are invited to participate based on achievement. Please contact the individual schools for attendance information, guidelines and applications.
 
Magnet
Several schools in the district are magnet schools and serve students and families from all areas within the Springfield Public School boundaries. For specific attendance information, guidelines and applications, please contact the individual schools.

Search Results
Search Results Table
The schools that meet the search criteria are displyaed in table format. School information included in the table is School Name, address, grade range, hours of operation, and a link to the school website. There is also a link to the map page which will provide a Springfield map with the location of the selected school.

Map Tools
Note:  If the map image does not appear to be in the correct location, check your screen resolution.
This website is best viewed at 1024 x 768.
 
Zoom Map
To zoom in or out of the map, click and draw a box to indicate the area to be displayed. When the mouse button is released, the map dsiplay will change.
 
Pan Map
To pan, simply click on the map and drag the image to the new map extent.
 
Full Extent
To view the map in the full, citywide extent, click the Full Extent button.
 
New Search
Click the 'New Search' button to return to the query page to begin a new search.
 
Back to Results
Click the 'Back to Results' button to return to the table of school results.
